Changing the Name of Perpetual Plaques

Changing the Name of Perpetual Plaques
Fashion is always changing – colors, styles, hem lengths and tie widths. We’re use to it and we have come to expect new and trendy every season. After all, change drives sales. The promotional product industry as well scopes markets and spends millions on research and design hoping to develop the product that everyone not only needs but must have.
Honors is in the business of recognition and awards. We, too, are on the lookout for catchy and different options. We live by the mantra “emulate to learn and innovate to earn.”
It took only a few minutes of investigation through a Google image search to realize that there was a neglected niche group of products related to our business. Sometimes known as perpetual plaques, multi-plated plaques or just plaques with a bunch of plates on them, we found that these products needed a make-over.
First of all, they needed a new name. After taking several surveys with groups up to 50 people, we found that generally no more than 5% of them knew what a perpetual plaque was. They got it once we said a plaque with a bunch of plates on it often used for an employee of the month plaque. So changing the name seemed so logical…HONORS PLAQUES. That’s what we’re calling them. (We’ll talk more about the name in future blogs.)
The plaques viewed on the first Google page for the most part all look the same. They are all dark brown wood, presumably walnut, and they all have either gold or black plates.
Honors Plaques offers hundreds of custom choices with new and trendy designs. Just like bow ties and suspenders the more traditional plaques are available as well.
It’s time for a change and we’re just getting started!
